Hi mama,
Summer break can feel so sweet… and also a little loud.
The snacks. The sunscreen. The “what are we doing today?” before you’ve had coffee.
So this week, we’re not adding a French lesson.
We’re adding five tiny French moments that fit inside the rhythm you already have.
Five tiny moments, under 10 minutes.
Your 5 Tiny French Moments
🌞 WEDNESDAY - Morning Moment
“Bonjour l’été !” (Hello summer!)
Say it in the morning when the kids come into the kitchen, wander into your room, or start asking for breakfast before your feet touch the floor.
Open the curtains together and say “Bonjour l’été !” like you’re greeting the whole season. Big smile optional. Messy hair completely welcome.
Pronunciation: bohn-jhoor lay-tay
🍽️ THURSDAY - Dinner Phrase
“C’est bon !” (It’s good!)
At dinner, snack time, or even while eating popsicles outside, model this tiny phrase.
Take one bite, smile, and say “C’est bon !” No need to make everyone repeat it. Just let it float into the room a few times.
Pronunciation: say bohn
🎲 FRIDAY - Play Moment
“On joue dehors ?” (Shall we play outside?)
Use this before backyard time, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, scooters, or a quick “please go burn some energy” moment.
Say “On joue dehors ?” and point outside. They’ll understand from the context, which is exactly how tiny language moments work.
Pronunciation: ohn jhoo duh-or?
❤️ SATURDAY - Connection Phrase
“Viens avec moi.” (Come with me.)
This is a sweet one for little transitions: walking to the mailbox, watering a plant, tidying shoes, or stepping outside for one quiet minute.
Hold out your hand and say “Viens avec moi.” It turns an ordinary moment into a tiny invitation.
Pronunciation: vee-ehn ah-vek mwah
🌸 SUNDAY - Seasonal Spark
“Regarde le soleil !” (Look at the sun!)
Use this on a walk, in the car, at the park, or while noticing long summer evenings.
Point gently and say “Regarde le soleil !” You can add “C’est l’été !” if it feels natural.
Pronunciation: ruh-gard luh soh-lay
No-Pressure Tip of the Week
You do not need a “French time.”
One phrase during breakfast, dinner, or outside play is enough.
A tiny phrase used with warmth will stick better than a perfect lesson nobody has energy for.
