Hi mama,

Busy homes count, too.

This week is all about tiny helping phrases you can use in real life, right in the middle of dishes, shoes, backpacks, and little messes. Nothing fancy. Just 5 tiny moments, under 10 minutes, that make French feel warm and doable.

Your 5 Tiny French Moments

🌞 WEDNESDAY - Morning Moment

“Tu peux m’aider ?” (Can you help me?)

Use this one during the morning rush with something already happening: zipping a coat, finding shoes, carrying a water bottle, or holding the door. Say “Tu peux m’aider ?” and let your child help in one tiny way.

Then smile and add “Merci !” if you’d like. That little exchange is enough. You are not making a lesson. You are just making a moment.

Pronunciation: too puh meh-day

🍽️ THURSDAY - Dinner Phrase

“Aide-moi, s’il te plaît.” (Help me, please.)

At dinner, invite your child into one small job: napkins on the table, spoons out, cups in place, or carrying something light. Use “Aide-moi, s’il te plaît” in a calm, everyday voice.

You can repeat it once or twice as you move together. That is plenty. A tiny phrase plus a tiny task can feel surprisingly sweet.

Pronunciation: ed-mwah, seel tuh pleh

🎲 FRIDAY - Play Moment

“J’aide.” (I’m helping.)

During cleanup or pretend play, model “J’aide” while you pick up blocks, put dolls to bed, or sort crayons into a cup. Keep it playful. You can say it in a cheerful little chant: “J’aide, j’aide, j’aide !”

Kids often love saying they are the helper. Let this phrase turn cleanup into a role instead of a battle, even for two minutes.

Pronunciation: jed

❤️ SATURDAY - Connection Phrase

“On fait ensemble.” (We do it together.)

Use this when your child is next to you for a tiny home task: folding a small towel, putting books back, matching socks, or straightening a cozy corner. Say “On fait ensemble” in a warm, reassuring voice.

It keeps the moment close and cooperative, without pressure. Less “go help,” more “come be with me in this.”

Pronunciation: ohn fay ahn-sahnbl

🌸 SUNDAY - Seasonal Spark

“On aide à la maison.” (We help at home.)

Choose one simple family reset moment: folding a blanket, putting away mail, watering a plant, or straightening the entryway. Say “On aide à la maison” as you do it together.

No need to do a big chore. The goal is simply to connect French with family life and shared effort. Tiny and real is perfect.

Pronunciation: jed ah lah may-zon

No-Pressure Tip of the Week

You do not need perfect pronunciation or a perfect routine.

One phrase used at the right moment is more powerful than a big plan that never happens.
